Prior to becoming a practitioner, Skyler worked for 5 years as a Registered Nurse in critical care units, including 3 years in the Emergency Department at Salem Health. He graduated from the Family Nurse Practitioner program through Gonzaga University and is also on his way to becoming certified in Functional Medicine, a modality that seeks to uncover the root of chronic health problems and aging.
His passion for holistic health care began in 2004 when he attended college in New York and was trained in third world medicine. In 2006, Skyler spent an internship in the Amazon Basin of Northern Brazil working alongside a team of nurses in health clinics serving river communities. This experience sparked his desire to become a Registered Nurse which ultimately led to his becoming an FNP.
Skyler loves surfing, hunting, traveling and taking his family on fun adventures. He, his wife, and 4 children reside in Salem. Three of their four children were birthed with Susie as their midwife and have enjoyed their continued relationship with her and the Aurora Family Health Clinic.
